Job description

Position Overview
The Airport Deployment Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing airport
infrastructure and signage deployment projects from project award through commissioning and closeout.
This role serves as the day-to-day project leader, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule,
within budget, and in compliance with airport operational requirements.
The Airport Deployment Project Manager acts as the primary liaison between Airport Authorities, Airlines,
Tenants, Designers, Engineers, General Contractors, Specialty Fabricators, Utility Providers, Regulatory
Agencies, and internal teams to successfully deliver projects in complex, active airport environments. The
ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced operational settings, effectively balances multiple stakeholders, and
proactively resolves issues that could impact project schedules or airport operations.
What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple airport deployment projects simultaneously from preconstruction handoff through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and deployment milestones to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for airport authorities, airlines, terminal operators, landlords, concessionaires, and other project stakeholders throughout construction.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, specialty fabricators, utility providers, and consultants to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.
  • Oversee procurement and fabrication activities, tracking long-lead materials and equipment to support project schedules.
  • Coordinate airport badging, security clearances, access permits, escorts, work windows, airside requirements, and operational restrictions necessary to execute construction activities.
  • Manage installation sequencing and phasing to minimize disruption to airport operations, passengers, tenants, and airline activities.
  • Coordinate utility outages, temporary services, shutdowns, inspections, testing, commissioning, and system activation with airport operations and utility providers.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change requests to ensure compliance with project requirements and constructability.
  • Identify project risks, field conflicts, schedule impacts, and operational constraints while developing practical mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality, safety, and schedule adherence throughout project execution.
  • Lead recurring project meetings with airport stakeholders, consultants, contractors, utility representatives, and internal teams while documenting decisions and action items.
  • Coordinate inspections, punch list activities, final testing, commissioning, turnover documentation, warranties, and project closeout.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including schedules, meeting minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, inspection records, financial tracking, and project reporting.
  • Support budget management by tracking commitments, forecasting project costs, reviewing invoices, managing change orders, and maintaining financial reporting.
  • Ensure all projects comply with airport standards, applicable building codes, ADA requirements, FAA regulations where applicable, and company safety policies.

About You
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant commercial construction experience will be considered.
  • 3 to 10 years of experience managing commercial construction, infrastructure, transportation, or design-build projects.
  • Experience managing projects in active operational environments such as airports, transit facilities, campuses, or other occupied public facilities is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with permitting, utility coordination, construction administration, procurement, and project scheduling.
  • Experience managing specialty construction including signage, electrical systems, structural installations, digital displays, architectural elements, or transportation infrastructure is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field coordination, commissioning, and project closeout processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to identify risks, solve complex field issues, and make sound decisions in fast-paced project environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management software.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, eBuilder, SiteTracker, Microsoft Project, or similar construction management platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to travel as required to support project deployment activities. Up to 70% of the time

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with airport authorities or aviation-related construction projects.
  • Experience working with display technology and signage.
