Position: Senior .Net Software Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas

Duration: Contract to Hire

Summary: The client is the world leader in developing and deploying software solutions for accurate measurement of stochastics effects from Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images. We are growing rapidly and expanding our technology into new use cases and industries. Working in conjunction with the R&D team, the rest of the engineering team, and the product marketing team, you will help design and develop our current and future products. We are a rapidly growing company looking to hire top technical talent.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy scalable software solutions focused on SEM image analysis. You will work across our entire application landscape, from legacy Windows desktop applications to modern, containerized microservices. While our primary ecosystem is .NET, we value strong fundamental software engineering skills and welcome developers eager to learn, adapt, and offer your unique perspective. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to independently research, design, and implement solutions across the entire stack, seamlessly navigating from back-end architecture to front-end development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain robust desktop, web, and containerized applications.
  • Maintain and enhance existing Windows Forms/WPF/Avalonia applications while contributing to modernization efforts.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers by sharing your unique experience and knowledge.
  • Manage individual project priorities, requirements, deadlines, and deliverables

Qualifications Required:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience developing enterprise applications in one or more of C#, VB.NET, C++, or Java.
  • Experience developing applications for Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency with version control systems (git), software analysis and design, and the software development life cycle.
  • Experience developing unit tests and utilizing testing frameworks such as xUnit
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in .NET development
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools using source control, automated build/test, and code coverage analysis tools, preferably Jenkins.
  • Experience in GUI development (Windows Forms, WPF, Avalonia, Web applications)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes).
  • Open to travel to customer sites when needed.

The following skills are a plus:

  • Experience with containerized .NET development, ADO, Entity Framework, WebAPI
  • Experience with service architectures / cluster computing: AWS, Azure; Monitoring and telemetry; Asynchronous messaging (Redis / RabbitMQ or equivalent).
  • Experience with scalable and fault-tolerant SQL, NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with lightweight databases (e.g. SQLite, LiteDB)
  • Programming for high availability and high scalability applications
  • Experience developing and implementing Image processing algorithms
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
