Job description

Duties As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0346-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: * Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Logistics Sustainment Division, Distribution Management Branch. * Institutionalizes, researches, interprets, analyzes, and applies supply chain best practices while within DOD/DOW regulations, business process management and business rules. * Provides deployment, distribution and logistics expertise for joint capabilities development policy, issues, and processes.

* Guides the implementation of a very complex logistical network, addressing on a global level the need for synchronized, reliable, and timely distribution processes. * Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. * Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with TCC's, Unified Commands, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff, Military Services, DLA, GSA, other Federal agencies, and commercial transportation organizations.

* Employee may be required to travel by commercial or military aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY/TAD assignments). * The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance * This position is designated by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the AF Civilian Drug Testing Program. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing for drug use.

* May be required to participate in non-traditional work schedules involving participation in round the clock operations, or otherwise work beyond, or outside of traditional hours, or work or tours of duty. Qualifications You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: * Planning, executing, assessing, and integrating deployment and distribution requirements for effective capabilities development to address a Command's priorities. * Developing long-range logistics business strategies that incorporate business practices, customer requirements, supply, and transportation services.

* Develops performance standards, appraises subordinate workers performance, resolves employee complaints, effects disciplinary measures, identifies employee development needs and arranges for training. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
