Position Summary

The Communications Arts Graduate Assistant is responsible for assisting in Department of Communication Arts media production, special projects, and more. The Graduate Assistant reports to the Communication Arts Department Chair.

Essential Functions
  • Assist the Communication Arts Department Chair & supervising faculty with special projects, including data collection.
  • Assist with content development and production of SMD social media.
  • Adhere to all UIW branding standards, style guides and web standards.
  • Understand and represent the mission and vision of Communication Arts, School of Media and Design, and the University of the Incarnate Word.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate in desktop publishing, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
  • Ability to operate in video editing, Adobe Premiere.
  • Ability to email marketing, photography, and social media development.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders such as faculty, alumni, and students.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (InDesign, AfterEffects, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA .
Required Education

Current UIW Communication Arts Graduate Student.

Required Work Experience

Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and social media development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in media production and marketing.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations

None.

Work Hours

Monday through Friday 8am- 5pm.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 lbs. waist-high.
