Job Description:
Responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining the site premises by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate staff. Fulfills management instructions in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily work of assistant leads and custodians; inspect all assigned areas daily to ensure work is being carried out properly and orderly
  • Evaluate performance of custodial personnel; prepares and submits disciplinary actions and incident reports; counsel's employees
  • Holds daily staff briefings to cover key topics for the day
  • Identifies development and training needs, and ensures that all training is obtained
  • Maintain records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work
  • Makes rounds to check for crew coverage of designated work areas, gives special cleaning instructions and/ or assignments, and is in compliance with direction of upper Management
  • Conducts inspections and investigates tenant/customer complaints of the building, and checks for cleanliness and repairs as required
  • Trains and ensures the subordinate staff understands their job requirements, this includes the proper cleaning methods, the use of equipment, safety practices, illness and injury prevention and work regulation
  • Assists with coverage of call offs/covering facility areas
  • Review schedules, create and manage new and reoccurring trainings
  • Assists with ensuring overall customer satisfaction, this includes daily reporting to Upper management
  • Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained
  • Corresponds with Manager for support, updates and duties

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
  • Ability to designate shift and area of work assignments for custodians (temporary/replacements) and lead personnel; conduct training
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, and supplies in a large or small scale Janitorial activities of the service.
  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to operate and use tools/equipment for training purposes
  • Ability to make the most efficient use of personnel as instructed, can delegate tasks and assignments
  • Considerable knowledge of employee policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond using written communication
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively independently or with a team
  • Basic knowledge of general housekeeping methods and practices, cleaning products and use

Physical Demands: The Supervisor position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects operating medium weight cleaning equipment. The Supervisor must perform the duties outlined which comply with the airport/company policies and regulations to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
