Job Description

Candidates must have:

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment problems

Cause identification/FMEA experience

Familiar with PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems

Good manual dexterity, ability to climb stairs/ladders and walk a couple miles a day, and withstand a very warm environment on occasion (80-100F)

Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.

Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. 

May require a bachelor's degree in engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. 

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

Works under immediate supervision. 

Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. 

Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

Work as part of a team by providing facilities management, manufacturing engineering, equipment readiness, equipment reliability, and operational activities at the  Aerospace-South Bend site. 

You will be trained to become a process owner and subject matter expert of High Temperature Furnaces within the Aerospace Wheel & Braking Systems Integrated Supply Chain team. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for auditing, training and certify operators on manufacturing operations of your assigned process.  

This will include learning the furnace operating process equipment, recording and analyzing process data for specification compliance, assisting with fault diagnosis, and emergency operation procedures.  

You will provide manufacturing expertise and ensure work instructions, manufacturing methods and equipment, equipment operability, workflow, and pre-established guidelines are followed to perform the operations of the equipment.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
