Job description

NON CDL Delivery Driver

Location: Lawrence, MA

Pay: $24.12

Hours: 6am - 3:30pm

Job Description

This role focuses on safely and efficiently delivering packages using a 16" box truck across designated routes in northern Somerville, MA, New Hampshire, and parts of Vermont. The delivery driver arrives early each day to load briefcases and technical equipment onto the truck, follows planned routes, and provides professional, customer-facing service during drop-offs and pick-ups.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive at work at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to prepare for the day’s deliveries.
  • Gather briefcases weighing approximately 50 pounds each and load them, along with other materials, onto the delivery truck.
  • Handle packages that may contain technical equipment such as wires, routers, Wi-Fi boxes, and phones.
  • Drive a 16" box truck on assigned delivery routes in northern Somerville, MA, New Hampshire, and parts of Vermont.
  • Complete daily delivery routes and pick up packages from clients as scheduled.
  • Follow all safety protocols and comply with company policies while driving, including remaining on camera and not using a phone while the vehicle is in motion.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and customer-focused service during all drop-offs and pick-ups.
  • Review and understand delivery routes provided the day before each shift to ensure efficient planning.
  • Load and unload trucks in the warehouse and backroom area at the start and end of shifts.
  • Participate in a 10-mile driving test as part of the hiring process to demonstrate driving skills.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of professional driving experience.
  • Valid DOT card.
  • Clean driving record for the past 7 years.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 to 55 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Experience with delivery driving and managing delivery routes.
  • Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks.
  • Strong customer service skills and a positive, professional personality for client-facing interactions.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a warehouse and delivery environment.
  • Reliability to work early morning hours (starting at 6:00 a.m.) until the job is completed, typically around mid-afternoon.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience driving 16" box trucks is preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse operations, including loading and unloading trucks, is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with route sales, drop-offs, and pick-ups.
  • Comfort working with packages that may contain technical equipment such as wires, routers, Wi-Fi boxes, and phones.
  • Willingness to complete a 15-minute phone screening followed by an in-person 10-mile driving test during the hiring process.

Work Environment

Typical hours are from 6:00 a.m. until the route is completed, usually around 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent daytime schedule in an active, hands-on environment.
