ย Pharmacy Technician - Specialty (Certified or Registered)

ย 

Position Summary

General Summary/Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, assists in total prescription filling process: data entry, inventory management, counting, labeling, filing and billing of prescribed products.

Coordinates care (with a multi-disciplinary team) directly with patients and caregivers.

Works with other team members and outside entities (insurance companies, PBMs, manufacturers) to obtain/verify patient financial responsibilities.

Delivery to patient homes/treatment sites as directed.

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED
Additional requirements:
ย ย ย ย Preferred educational qualifications: Certified Technician Preferred
ย 

Licensure/Certification/Registration

ย ย ย ย Must be listed as Certified/Registered Pharmacy Technician with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy


Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 ย years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred ย 
ย 

Knowledge/Skills
ย ย ย ย Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
ย ย ย ย Able to read and write printed material in English
ย ย ย ย Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
ย ย ย ย Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
ย ย ย ย Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
