1st shift (United States of America)Please review the following job description:The Senior Manager / Lead Engineer - Digital Data Collection & Privacy Engineering is a hands on technical leader responsible for the architecture, implementation, and ongoing optimization of digital data collection across all
bank owned digital properties. This role leads a team of engineers while remaining deeply involved in day to day technical execution, code reviews, and platform design.
The role owns tagging, cookies, consent, and privacy compliant data collection across websites, mobile apps, and integrated platforms, with a primary focus on Adobe Experience Cloud (Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Platform). Operating in a highly regulated banking environment, this leader ensures that all digital data is accurate, secure, auditable, and privacy compliant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

HandsOn Technical Leadership

  • Serve as a playercoach, contributing directly to technical implementation while leading and mentoring a team of digital data engineers.
  • Review, author, and approve tagging code, JavaScript implementations, SDK configurations, and Adobe Launch rules.
  • Set engineering standards, best practices, and architectural patterns for digital data collection and privacy controls.
  • Lead technical design reviews and actively troubleshoot complex tracking, identity, and data quality issues.

Digital Data Collection Architecture

  • Design and own the enterprise digital data collection architecture across web, mobile apps, and digital platforms.
  • Define, implement, and govern a scalable digital data layer aligned with analytics, marketing, and personalization needs.
  • Ensure consistent, eventbased data collection across browsers, devices, and channels.
  • Partner with frontend and app engineering teams to embed tracking within modern frameworks and mobile SDKs.

Adobe Experience Cloud Engineering

  • Act as the technical authority for Adobe Launch / Adobe Tags, including environment strategy, extensions, custom code, and deployment pipelines.
  • Lead handson implementation and configuration of Adobe Analytics (events, props, eVars, classifications, processing rules).
  • Own digital data ingestion into Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), including schemas, datasets, and Web SDK configuration.
  • Support integrations with Adobe Target, Customer Journey Analytics, and downstream activation platforms.

Cookies, Consent & PrivacybyDesign

  • Architect and implement cookie consent and preference management frameworks across digital properties.
  • Translate privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, GLBA) into enforceable technical controls within tagging and data collection systems.
  • Ensure consent signals are consistently applied across Adobe and thirdparty technologies.
  • Implement data minimization, masking, and exclusion logic to prevent unauthorized collection of sensitive data.

First & ThirdParty Technology Governance

  • Technically evaluate, onboard, and govern thirdparty tags, SDKs, and vendors in partnership with Security, Risk, and Privacy teams.
  • Maintain a living inventory of all digital tags, cookies, data destinations, and vendors.
  • Conduct regular audits of live sites and apps to detect unauthorized or noncompliant data collection.
  • Enforce secure and approved data transmission to internal and external platforms.

Engineering Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of digital data and tagging engineers.
  • Own team delivery, backlog prioritization, and sprint planning for digital data initiatives.
  • Provide handson mentoring in JavaScript, tagging frameworks, debugging techniques, and analytics implementation.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, documentation, testing, and compliancefirst engineering.

Governance, Risk & Audit Support

  • Ensure all digital data collection meets internal data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams to support audits, privacy assessments, and regulatory exams.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, data flow diagrams, and implementation standards.
  • Act as the escalation point for digital data incidents or privacyrelated issues.

Core Technical Skills Required

  • Deep, handson expertise with Adobe Experience Cloud, especially Adobe Launch and Adobe Analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, JSON, browser debugging tools, and network inspection.
  • Experience with Adobe Web SDK and serverside data collection
  • Background in platform engineering or modern frontend frameworks
  • Experience implementing mobile app tracking using iOS and Android SDKs.
  • Strong understanding of cookies, local storage, consent frameworks, and identity management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and deployment processes for tagging setups.

Privacy & Compliance Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of digital privacy regulations and consent enforcement mechanisms.
  • Proven ability to implement privacybydesign solutions in production systems.
  • Experience collaborating with Legal, Risk, and Information Security teams.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Ability to lead through influence while remaining deeply technical
  • Clear communicator with engineers, product teams, marketers, and executives
  • Strong bias toward clean implementation, documentation, and longterm maintainability
  • Comfort making architectural decisions in ambiguous or regulated environments

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree and equivalent combination of advanced education and experience, which could include any combination of 8 years of experience in IT software engineering, 5 years' relevant business experience (i.e. making technical-related decisions on the business side), 5 years' experience in project management, and at least 2 years of management experience

2. Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators
3. Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions
4. Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services
5. Ability to lead projects of significant complexity and risk exposure, particularly with enterprise-wide implications
6. Ability to exercise judgment in solving technical, operational, and organizational challenges in the context of complex business objectives and priorities
7. Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives
