Sandblaster/Paint Prep

SHIFT: 3PM - 1:30AM

Monday - Friday

Must be open to Saturday due to production needs and OT.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced sandblaster to join our team. The role involves moving painted parts to the next process, and recommending improvements to paint procedures and sandblasting parts. You will also complete required paint documentation, troubleshoot problems, and participate in Lean initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Paint according to customer expectations.
  • Sandblasting parts and components for GSE (Ground Support Equipment).
  • Complete required paint documentation including VOC log and check sheets.
  • Move painted parts to the next process verifying they meet specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to paint procedures.
  • Complete assigned Lean initiatives including 5s activities.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify and communicate discrepancies.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in painting and industrial paint prep.
  • Experience with spray guns, sanding, paint booths, and blasting.
  • Knowledge of powder coat, auto body, paint sprayers, and powder coating.
  • 2+ years of experience in auto paint and body, or industrial manufacturing painting or sandblasting.
  • Experience with prepping, grit blasting and final painting equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical, vocational, or military training is a plus but not required.
  • Position will require a Respirator Fit and Pulmonary Function Testing.

Work Environment

Work in a large industrial manufacturing environment that is air-conditioned, though occasional outdoor tasks may be required.

The outdoor area is not air-conditioned.

Must be open to wearing PPE and working in paint booth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.48/hr.
