Job Summary:
We are seeking an industry writer and content designer to assist with the creation and production of Supermicro's external long-form assets (white papers, customer stories, brochures, etc.). The role is ideal for someone with experience in the server technology sector and significant proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop. The responsibilities detailed below include working with product managers, marketing managers, and engineers to author impactful content and deliver visually appealing content in a fast-paced environment, often amid competing priorities. Future roles may involve creating new templates and customer-facing collateral.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Writer
  • General knowledge of computer servers, AI, and workstation technologies to create meaningful written content such as solution briefs, whitepapers, blogs, and brochures.
  • Identify errors in collateral and suggest changes for clarification.
  • Basic proofreading skills with attention to technical details.

Collateral Creation
  • Modify and update existing brochures and data sheets to meet product managers' requirements. This includes Brochures, Success Stories, Data Sheets, and other styles.
  • Import existing content into Supermicro external templates, and modify per Supermicro standards.
  • Work closely with the creative design team on new templates

Collateral Printing
  • Understand and communicate with commercial printing companies to ensure high-quality and correct collateral.
  • Knowledge of the specifics of ordering professional-grade printed collateral.
  • Ensuring that campus-wide collateral locations are consistently refreshed.

General
  • Ability to multitask with multiple priorities.
  • HTML scripting is a bonus.
  • Understanding of CPU and GPU general technologies.
  • Ability to work in Word and Adobe Creative Suite

Qualifications:
  • 3+ Years of high-intensity InDesign and Photoshop experience
  • Onsite at the Supermicro headquarters in San Jose, CA
  • Knowledge of exporting content to various PDF formats.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with a wide range of demanding clients.
  • Previous experience working at a technology company.
  • Ability to carry 20 lbs. of collateral.
  • This is a temp position for 6 months

Salary Range
$35.00 - $45.00 / hr
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
