Diesel Mechanic

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Location: Broken Arrow, OK
Pay: $23-$27/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:00 PM (shift may vary depending on business needs and weather)

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair diesel and gas vehicles, as well as hydraulics.
  • Maintain shop equipment such as bending machines, cutters, table saws, air compressors, and sewer systems.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical issues by observing devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Dismantle devices to remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Minimize downtime by training production workers on preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.
  • Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting and analyzing information to identify trends.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to company procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, bend, climb, stretch, twist, or reach with arms and legs.
  • Capable of working outside all day in extreme heat or cold.
  • Exposure to fumes, vibrations, and high noise levels.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working on equipment up to two stories high, with no fear of heights.
