Job description

Control-M Batch Workload Manager

Need hands-on experience in scheduling, automating, and managing enterprise batch workloads using Control-M. This role will work closely with infrastructure, application, and business teams to ensure reliable and efficient job execution across the enterprise. WILL EXTEND INTO NEXT YEAR

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain batch scheduling workflows using Control-M.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot job failures, delays, and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with application owners, developers, and support teams to define scheduling requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, SLAs, and security policies.
  • Automate routine tasks and integrate Control-M with other tools and applications.
  • Perform upgrades, patches, and system maintenance for Control-M infrastructure.
  • Provide on-call support for production issues related to job scheduling.
  • Document processes, workflows, and operational runbooks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience working with BMC Control-M in an enterprise environment.
  • Strong knowledge of batch scheduling, workload automation, and job dependencies.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Shell, PowerShell, Python, or Perl).
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server) and integration with scheduling jobs.
  • Experience with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with Control-M Automation API or Control-M Self Service.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS job scheduling.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehouses, including Netezza, is a plus.
