As a Security Officer Access Specialist in Harrington, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, where you will help monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and support security-related protocols. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri03:00 PM - 11:00 PMSat03:00 PM - 11:00 PMSun03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and document access activity to help support security-related operations and site protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through proper communication channels when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, lobby areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, access concerns, and/or site issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
