About the Opportunity
A modern, well-established manufacturer based in Trenton, Ohio is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join their team on a contract basis. This facility is one of the cleanest and most modern in the region, only a couple years old, and candidates consistently leave impressed with the people and environment. This is a programming-focused role supporting both prototype and production machining activities in a collaborative, cross-functional setting.
What You'll Be Doing
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for Haas VF-series machining centers
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications to build accurate, efficient toolpaths
- Select tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds to optimize machining performance and part quality
- Troubleshoot program, tooling, and machining-related issues to minimize downtime and scrap
- Prove out and validate CNC programs to ensure accuracy and repeatability
- Verify machined parts using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gages
- Maintain organized program documentation, setup sheets, and tooling records
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam or similar CAM software
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Solid understanding of tooling, machining processes, feeds and speeds, and setup optimization
- Ability to read and interpret CAD data and technical drawings
- Proficient with precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with Haas machining centers is a plus but not required
- Machine operation experience is not required; this role is programming focused
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or CNC certification preferred.
