Both candidates MUST have nuclear power plant experience and dry fuel experience!
Senior Decontamination Technician (Dry Fuel Storage Operations)
Location: Wolf Creek Generating Station - Burlington, KS

Position Summary
ReNuke Services is seeking experienced Senior Decontamination Technicians to support Dry Fuel Storage Operations at Wolf Creek Generating Station. This position will support radiological decontamination, contamination control, radioactive waste handling, and dry cask loading activities associated with spent fuel transfer and storage operations.
The Senior Decon Technician will provide leadership in contamination control practices and assist in maintaining safe and compliant work environments throughout the dry fuel campaign.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform radiological decontamination of tools, equipment, work areas, and dry fuel support equipment


Support transfer cask preparation and post-use decontamination.
Establish and maintain contamination control boundaries.
Assist with contamination surveys and personnel monitoring activities.


Support radioactive waste packaging, handling, and shipment preparations.
Maintain contamination control supplies and equipment inventories.
Support dry fuel loading and fuel handling operations.


Assist Radiation Protection personnel with radiological controls implementation.
Perform housekeeping activities within radiologically controlled areas.
Maintain compliance with site procedures and regulatory requirements.


Mentor junior Decontamination Technicians and temporary staff.
Participate in pre-job briefs and ALARA reviews.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.


Minimum 3 years commercial nuclear decontamination experience.
Previous experience supporting radiological work in commercial nuclear facilities.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear access.


Ability to wear respiratory protection and anti-contamination clothing.
Ability to work extended schedules during campaign operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous dry fuel storage campaign experience.


Experience supporting fuel handling activities.
Experience with cask loading operations.
Previous ISFSI support experience.


Current commercial nuclear access.
Experience with radioactive waste packaging and material control.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated areas.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
Ability to wear PPE and anti-contamination clothing for extended durations.

Position Summary
ReNuke Services is seeking experienced Senior Radiation Control Technicians (RCTs) to support a Dry Fuel Storage Campaign at Wolf Creek Generating Station. Selected candidates will provide radiological controls coverage for spent fuel handling, dry cask loading, transfer cask operations, canister processing, vacuum drying, helium backfill, and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) activities.
The Senior RCT will serve as a radiological subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to junior technicians while ensuring compliance with NRC regulations, site procedures, ALARA principles, and project-specific radiological controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide radiological coverage for dry fuel loading operations.
Perform contamination, airborne radioactivity, dose rate, and release surveys


Monitor fuel handling, cask movement, and transfer operations.
Support canister loading, vacuum drying, and helium backfill evolutions.
Maintain radiological boundaries, postings, and access controls.


Review and implement Radiological Work Permits (RWPs).
Conduct pre-job briefs and radiological risk assessments.
Evaluate radiological conditions and recommend ALARA improvements.


Support radioactive material control and transportation activities.
Perform personnel contamination monitoring and release surveys.
Mentor junior RCTs and provide technical leadership during campaign activities.


Maintain accurate survey records and regulatory documentation.
Support emergency response activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.


ANSI 3.1 qualified Radiation Protection Technician or equivalent utility qualification.
Minimum 5 years commercial nuclear power radiological controls experience.
Previous Senior RCT qualification at a commercial nuclear facility


Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear access.
Ability to wear respiratory protection and anti-contamination clothing.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous dry fuel storage campaign experience.


Experience with NUHOMS, HI-STORM, MAGNASTOR, NAC, or equivalent dry storage systems.
Fuel handling experience.
ISFSI operations experience.


ALARA planning experience.
Current commercial nuclear access.
Current NRRPT certification.


Physical Requirements
Ability to climb ladders and access elevated work areas.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended shifts, nights, weekends, and outage schedules.


Ability to work in radiological controlled areas for extended periods.
Decon Tech:
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years commercial nuclear decontamination experience.
