Job description

This is a temporary job posting that will last from 08/03/2026 - 08/30/2026.

Reports to: Director of Plant Operations/ Director of Environmental Services / EVS

Supervisor

OVERVIEW:

Performs floor care and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and

assigned clinical and non-clinical areas to ensure that quality standards, safety

guidelines and customer service expectations are met

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing the sheets, changing and

arranging the towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting and

rearranging rooms as needed

 Report and return any guest properties found in the rooms while rendering

service

 Report cases of property damage on the units and resident rooms to supervisor

 May collect trash/recycling/soiled linen from the units and for the proper

disposal of trash/recycling/laundry in an outside/soiled linen barrel container

 May clean patient rooms, public areas, restrooms, offices and ancillary rooms in

assigned areas.

 Demonstrates a complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures

and proper operation of cleaning equipment.

 Maintains an appropriate level of knowledge relating to matters of sanitation,

use of disinfectants, and reports any hazardous situations, and responds to

any hazards and emergency situations.

 Collects and disposes of trash (contaminated or non-contaminated) in an appropriate manner

 Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up

 Work with a team of housekeepers on each shift

 Clean, disinfect and store all equipment at the end of the shift

 Maintain a positive relationship with employees and guests

 Monitor and report on the inventory of cleaning supplies

 Respond to calls for housekeeping problems, such as spills and broken glass

 Collect and remove trash and debris

 Assist with packing resident belongings

 Assist with laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing and sorting

linen

 Assist with buffing, waxing, and scrubbing

 Report, turn in and log all lost and found items

 Clean upholstered furniture

 Perform detailed deep cleans when required

 Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

 At least one year of experience in housekeeping

 Experience with buffing, waxing, and scrubbing

 Excellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances and their operations and

proper use of cleaning agents

 Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

 This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to

various locations around the care center.

 Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and

specimens in working environment.

 Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display

terminal.

 Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and

deceased patients.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be

met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,

distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to

adjust focus

 This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling,

stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.

 The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds.
