Job Title: Traveling Construction Laborer

Job Description

This role combines hands-on construction labor with traveling field technician responsibilities. You will support a variety of infrastructure and utility projects by performing general manual labor, assisting with hydro-excavation and pipe-related work, and safely handling materials on-site. The position requires frequent travel to different project locations, the ability to work independently or as part of a crew, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general manual labor tasks, including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials and equipment on job sites.
  • Assist with hydro-excavation operations to safely expose underground utilities and infrastructure.
  • Support storm and sewer line cleaning activities, ensuring lines are properly cleared and maintained.
  • Assist with pipe-jetting and related pipe maintenance tasks as directed by project leads.
  • Contribute to pipe laying and excavation work, following instructions and site plans.
  • Operate as a traveling technician, working at various project locations that may be out of town or out of state.
  • Work independently when required, managing assigned tasks and time effectively.
  • Collaborate as an active member of a field team, communicating clearly and supporting coworkers.
  • Carry out miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned by supervisors.
  • Follow all safety procedures and site protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to perform general construction and field labor tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Experience or strong aptitude in construction, field service, pipe laying, hydrovac, excavation, or general labor work.
  • Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift at least 80 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness and ability to work in excess of regularly scheduled hours when necessary, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly, as most projects are not local.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to also work independently when required.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and alignment with the company’s culture and values.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, excavation, hydrovac operations, or pipe-related work is highly beneficial.
  • Experience in field service or outdoor infrastructure projects is an advantage.
  • Comfort working with tools and equipment commonly used in construction and excavation environments.
  • Adaptable mindset with the ability to adjust to changing project needs and locations.
  • Positive attitude and strong communication skills when working with crew members and supervisors.

Why Work Here?

You will join a hardworking, team-oriented environment where your effort and reliability are valued. The role offers frequent overtime opportunities for those who want to maximize their earnings and stay busy. You will gain diverse, hands-on experience across different projects and locations, building strong skills in construction and field operations. The culture emphasizes adaptability, safety, and mutual support, creating a setting where dedicated individuals can grow and take on new challenges.

Work Environment

You will work primarily outdoors, with job site locations varying based on project needs. Conditions can include uneven terrain, changing weather, and active construction or excavation areas. The schedule may extend beyond standard hours, with nights and weekends required during peak project periods and significant overtime available. The role involves frequent travel, as most projects are not local, which may require staying away from home for periods of time.
