Job description

Critical Rental Solutions Application Engineers sit at the intersection of engineering, commercial support, and operations. They design, price, and deliver temporary compressed air solutions that keep critical industrial Sales running—often under tight timelines and challenging site conditions. From early customer conversations through execution, this role translates technical requirements into practical, reliable solutions that are safe, compliant, and commercially sound. It's a hands‑on, fast‑moving role for engineers who enjoy solving real‑world problems and seeing their designs come to life in the field.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct site assessments and load calculations to design appropriate power, cooling, and compressed air solutions.
  • Develop engineered solutions that meet safety, operational, and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare accurate technical quotes aligned with scope, equipment selection, pricing, and schedules.
  • Support sales during proposals and tenders by validating technical assumptions and solution feasibility.
  • Configure solutions and manage asset availability using the Magic Asset Tool, ensuring data and pricing accuracy.
  • Support the technical scope of projects from design through installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Work closely with Sales and field teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions under tight timelines for outages, emergencies, and maintenance events.
  • Use monitoring and performance data to improve reliability and efficiency
  • After hours and weekend support as needed

What You'll Need:

  • Associate degree, technical certification, military technical training, or equivalent industry experience preferred. 
  • Compressed air system experience (preferred).
  • Also willing to consider 2–5 years of experience with industrial equipment, rental, power generation, HVAC, pumps, manufacturing, maintenance, field engineering, or service organizations.
  • Experience translating engineered solutions into accurate, commercially sound quotes.
  • Proficiency with CAD, engineering calculations, and asset or configuration management tools.
  • Ability to perform in fast‑paced, high‑pressure environments where safety and uptime are critical.
  • Strong communication skills across technical, sales, and operations teams.
  • Open to Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Compressor Technician, Power Generation Technician, HVAC Technician, Equipment Technician, Engineering Technician, or similar backgrounds.
