Job description

CGS is looking for Work Station Controllers to support the US Army's Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) at Fort Leavenworth, KS.

Our Work Station Controllers are essential to the success of Warfighter Exercises (WFXs) conducted under the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP). You train, coach, and supervise work/response cell personnel tasked with replicating subordinate, adjacent, and higher headquarters units. You ensure realistic simulation environments using platforms such as Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) and support the development and execution of operational plans aligned with current Army doctrine.

Responsibilities:

  • Train and supervise rotational unit personnel replicating command structures during exercises.
  • Instruct work/response cell personnel on WARSIM Battle Space Workstation (BSWS) and JLCCTC platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance on Army Mission Command Systems, including Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and Command Post of the Future (CPOF).
  • Support Exercise Control and Database teams in developing system files for training events.
  • Collaborate with Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/Ts) and S-33 to execute Unit Training Events and assist in operational planning.
  • Conduct database reviews and simulation platform testing prior to WFXs.
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans for JLCCTC instruction.
  • Oversee work cell operations during exercises to ensure simulation realism.
  • Generate Work Cell reports for After Action Review (AAR) development.
  • Implement workarounds for combat functionality gaps in JLCCTC.
  • Resolve simulation anomalies and escalate issues through Senior Control as needed.
  • Provide detailed feedback and contribute to Contractor's Exercise AARs.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Intermediate Level Education (ILE/MEL4) or Sergeants Major Course graduate equivalent.
  • Former field grade officer; highly desirable to be a retired lieutenant colonel (O-5) or above. Senior warrant officers (W-4/5) or sergeants major (E-9) are also eligible.
  • Successful service in a key developmental position at the brigade or battalion level.
  • Demonstrated tactical and technical proficiency within their Warfighting Function (WfF).
  • Familiarity with current Army and Joint regulations and publications relevant to this role prior to employment.
  • Current DoD Secret security clearance or higher.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • War College (MEL1) Graduate or equivalent
  • Retired Colonel (O-5) or above
  • Served on Division/Corps level staff positions
  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Master's degree
  • Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Working Conditions: inside Government training facilities.

Required Travel: Employees will travel to temporary work locations during exercises.
