About the job Remote COBOL CICS Engineer
COBOL CICS Engineer needs 6+ years experience
COBOL CICS Engineer requires:

  • COBOL, CICS, VSAM, MQ, JCL,
  • Knowledge of SQL Server, Java
COBOL CICS Engineer duties:
  • Develop from scratch CICS programs that can facilitate read/write to both VSAM and MQ in the same program
  • Write CICS programs that can orchestrate the execution of both legacy and new CICS transactions in the same unit of work
  • Analyze and decompose complex CICS software systems and collaborate with and influence others to improve the overall design
  • Serve as the SME in CICS Development and Support
  • Troubleshoot and fix financial software problems as they occur
  • Make recommendations to Production Support, Development, and IT Management to streamline infrastructure and application performance to improve the overall customer experience
  • Act as a key advisor to Technical Leads, Senior IT team members on Infrastructure and Architecture projects
  • Guide and participate in training other members of the team
