Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care to patients throughout the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
  • Assist surgical team members by functioning in the scrub and/or circulating nurse role during operative procedures
  • Maintain a sterile field and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols in the OR environment
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with facility standards
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and ancillary staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical workflow
Required Qualifications
  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York or compact licensure eligibility
  • Current BLS certification; ACLS may be required
  • Prior experience in an Operating Room or perioperative nursing setting
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and OR protocols
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • CNOR certification or active pursuit of perioperative nursing certification
  • Experience with a broad range of surgical specialties
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation systems
