Position Overview:
As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality perioperative care. You will collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety, maintain sterile environment standards, and facilitate smooth surgical procedures from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide circulating nurse services, including patient identification, verification of informed consent, positioning, and comprehensive documentation of intraoperative events.
  • Maintain accurate surgical counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps in collaboration with the scrub technician, ensuring safety and compliance throughout all phases of surgery.
  • Coordinate communication among the surgical team, anesthesia providers, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to promote seamless patient flow and safe handoffs.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons, manage logistics for implants and specialized equipment, and uphold sterile techniques in accordance with AORN standards.
  • Ensure all procedures adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies, contributing to a safe and efficient operating environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of perioperative nursing experience in a hospital operating room setting.
  • Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS and CNOR certification preferred.
  • Ability to perform circulating nurse duties effectively and confidently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a collaborative surgical team.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Night shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts from 6:30pm to 7:00am
  • Day shift: 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts from 6:30am to 7:00pm
