Job description

Circulating/Scrub Nurse
FT, days

What You'll Do
The Circulating/Scrub Registered Nurse provides care, treatment, counseling, and health education to patients in the intraoperative phase.
  • Monitors patient's physiologic and emotional status in the operative environment; provides continuous patient surveillance for early recognition and immediate emergency treatment of medical or surgical complications.
  • Communicates with the surgeon, anesthesiologist, & other members of the health care team.
  • Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment, inventory, and sterilization.
  • Assesses the operating room for equipment function, readiness, & supply availability.
  • Arranges supplies & instruments, keeps accurate counts, passes instruments & sterile supplies, applies dressings, helps to prepare & preserve specimens, operates the sterilizer, & other operating room equipment.
  • Assists the Circulating RN in assessing operating room for equipment function, readiness, supply availability, & ensures the needs of the operating team are met.

Who We're Looking For
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Licensed in the state of Colorado as a Registered Nurse.
  • A temporary permit issued by the Board of Nursing will be accepted until a permanent license is received if awaiting reciprocity.
  • Must have current BLS card upon hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
  • ACLS and PALS certification is required within 6 months of initial employment and must maintain current certification status throughout GRHD employment.
  • Completion of the Surgical Technologist Orientation via on the job training.
  • One year of professional nursing experience scrubbing or circulating in an operating room patient care setting preferred.
