Responsibilities

New York Institute of Technology's Jonesboro, Arkansas campus is seeking a Delta Care-A-Van Driver. Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Delta Population Health Institute,the driver is responsible for safely transporting the mobile health unit to designated service locations and supporting the delivery of community-based healthcare services. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the successful operation of mobile wellness events and outreach initiatives across the region.


Responsibilities:

    Drive the mobile vehicle to the screening site where healthcare services are being offered.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is properly maintained.
  • Ensure that the vehicle is clean and has gasoline.
  • Dispose of hazardous waste after every wellness site visit conducted by the mobile clinic.
  • Work with the Program Coordinator/Manager to determine schedule.

Hours will primarily fall in the afternoon to early evening, and there may be occasional weekends or outlying hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree, with 1-3 years of relevant experience.

High School diploma/GED required.

Prior experience as a Driver for an employer.

CDL, preferred.

Experience in operating commercial vehicles.

Ideal candidate must enjoy meeting and greeting faculty, staff, and community members in a professional manner.

Familiarity with Jonesboro area/roads, such as back roads and traffic patterns, and familiarity with GPS devices or apps is encouraged.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must have excellent communication skills and able to keep open line of communication with the Delta Care-a-van Program Coordinator Manager for scheduling and timing of events.

Licensing, taxes, fees, and insurance for the vehicle will be provided through the Delta Care-a-van grant, NYIT, and/or Arkansas State University.
