Job description

Company Description
Mariners Church is a biblically-centered, non-denominational church located in Southern California focused on inspiring people to follow Jesus and fearlessly change the world. Mariners is listed as one of the top 20 largest churches in America by Outreach Magazine. We are a community of ordinary people from all walks of life courageously trusting God to do the extraordinary. Simply put, we trust God to do what we can't-heal, transform, renew, forgive, provide and sustain. Through the redemption story of each believer, God is glorified, lives are changed and communities are impacted in a significant way. Come and be part of a new season of growth as Mariners Church responds to God's call in launching new congregations.
Job Description
The Marriage Coordinator will be the driving administrative force behind the marriage ministry at Mariners Church. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create and manage systems that support groups, courses, and events within the department while demonstrating excellent relational and interpersonal skills with the ministry team, staff, volunteers, and congregants, reporting to the Discipleship Pastor on the Marriage team. A part-time position, the schedule is generally Monday-Friday for a total of 20-25 hours. Although the position is regularly Monday-Friday, ministry happens in the evenings and during the weekends. All Mariners staff are expected to work during Christmas Eve and Easter services, as well as participate in Rooted once/year. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Database Management: Work to regularly maintain and report on Married Life Groups (leaders and coaches) and Marriage team volunteers within the database and for volunteer huddles.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ability to complete a wide range of tasks, including email correspondence, spreadsheets, phone inquiries, digital file management, and more.
  • Logistics Management: Manage on-campus room reservations and details for all Marriage Ministry groups, courses, and events.
  • Event Management: Play a key role in ensuring that all event logistics and operations are well organized and executed.

This will be a temporary position with a start date around September 2026.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working or volunteering in a ministry is preferred.
  • Able to work in multiple systems - database, event management, and Google Drive.
  • Must have high attention to detail.
  • Able to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Possess good organizational skills and efficient work characteristics
  • Able to quickly prioritize and meet deadlines on time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a ministry team environment.
  • Intuitive and self-starter

  • Embrace a high biblical standard of personal conduct and lifestyle.
  • Agree to and adhere to the church's statement of faith, leadership commitment, and position papers.
