Job Title: Barista 

Department/Ministry: Steeple Coffee 

Reports to: Steeple Coffee Lead 

Days Worked: Monday through Friday / Sunday through Thursday (may vary) with occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate church activities and events. 

Required Hours: Full-time Hourly, Non-Exempt 

Benefit Eligible: Yes 

Salary: $14-16/hr + tips

Job Summary:  

The Full-Time Barista is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing beverages, maintaining café cleanliness, supporting food service, and assisting with daily café operations. 

This position is focused on café execution and guest experience. Responsibilities include beverage preparation, customer service, opening and closing duties, cleaning, stocking, and supporting the daily operation of Steeple Coffee. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

Beverage and Food Service 

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and standards. 

• Assist & Brew commercial coffee (on commercial equipment)  

• Deliver friendly, welcoming, and professional customer service. 

• Accurately process transactions using the point-of-sale system. 

• Maintain beverage quality and presentation standards. 

• Prepare and serve approved food items according to established procedures. 

• Follow food-safety and sanitation requirements. (waste logs, temp logs, FIFO, etc) 

• Restock food and beverage products throughout the day.  

Café Operations 

• Complete assigned opening and closing procedures. 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café. 

• Wash dishes and maintain clean work areas. 

• Restock supplies, cups, lids, food containers, and service items. 

• Assist with receiving deliveries and stocking products. 

• Dispose of trash and maintain a clean guest environment. 

Team & Ministry Support 

• Work collaboratively with Steeple Coffee staff to ensure efficient operations. 

• Assist with training and onboarding activities when requested. 

• Support church events and approved café-related activities when coverage is required. 

• Represent Peachtree Church through professional conduct and hospitality. 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

• Friendly and hospitable. 

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first attitude. 

• Excellent Organizational skills.  

• Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory. 

• Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.  

• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations. 

Education and Experience: 

• At least two years of related experience preferred  

Physical Requirements:  

• Prolonged periods of standing 

• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
