Position: Construction Laborer
CONSTRUCTION LABORER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
  • Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
  • Ability to set own goals and tasks
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team environment

CONSTRUCTION LABORER COMMON DUTIES & TASKS:
Under the direct supervision of a carpenter or foreman:
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
  • Study blueprints and diagrams to determine dimensions of structure or form to be constructed.
  • Measure materials or distances, using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work.
  • Cut or saw boards, timbers, or plywood to required size, using handsaw, power saw, or woodworking machine.
  • Assemble and fasten material together to construct wood or metal framework of structure, using bolts, nails, or screws.
  • Anchor and brace forms and other structures in place, using nails, bolts, anchor rods, steel cables, planks, wedges, and timbers
  • Mark cutting lines on materials, using pencil and scriber.
  • Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, hoists, roof supports, or chutes, using hand tools, plumb rule, and level.
  • Install door and window frames, subflooring, fixtures, or temporary supports in structures undergoing construction or repair.
  • Bore bolt holes in timber, masonry or concrete walls, using power drill.
  • Dig or direct digging of postholes and set poles to support structures.
  • Build chutes for pouring concrete.

CONSTRUCTION LABORER COMPENSATION:
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act the salary range for this position will be $19.29 to $25.38 per hour (eligible for OT at 1.5 base rate) + Profit Sharing and Project-Based Incentive Bonus and Ownership through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Actual base pay within this range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
BENEFITS:
High performing Laborers who desire a career in construction are eligible to participate in the four-year CITC Carpenter Apprenticeship Program to become a Journeyman Carpenter. This program is available at no cost to the employee.
