POSITION SUMMARY

The General Manager - Machine Sales will be responsible for building strong relationships with customers and proving the best customer experience. This position will also be responsible for forecasting, managing and delivering the company's machinery sales equipment Annual Business Plans, achieving market share (PINS) and financial performance targets. This position, in collaboration with Credit/Finance, Product Support/Service, will deliver excellence in customer experience and revenue growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Work closely with customers to support their needs and provide solutions.
  2. Oversee machine sales through the respective management teams in San Diego and the Pacific Islands and support the teams to achieve annual growth targets.
  3. Establish appropriate levels of sales coverage for the territory and position team to achieve customer experience goals.
  4. Manage on-board and off-board technology solutions to provide customers with options for improved site management.
  5. Engage with SITECH to expand technology offerings and site solutions for customers.
  6. Engage with Caterpillar to develop go-to-market strategies.
  7. Effectively supervise the sales team's performance and their territory assignments.
  8. Coach and develop sales and machine operator training teams. Manage quarterly SalesPro scorecard and develop individual learning plans.
  9. Gather, communicate, and respond to market intelligence - develop solutions to counteract competitive activity and achieve business plan.
  10. Interface with Inventory Manager to establish retail levels, asset turnover strategy for all locations.
  11. Coordinate and administer Caterpillar programs. Interface with the District Reps and Caterpillar in a way that optimizes their engagement and participation as it relates to supporting our goals.
  12. Work with Marketing to ensure we are actively marketing, advertising, and connecting with customers effectively on campaigns and to provide solutions.
  13. Promote, sell, and secure new business, including major accounts.
  14. Direct the demonstration of products and services and assist prospects in the selection of those best suited to their needs.
  15. Work with the team to establish used equipment growth strategy and execution plan.
  16. Conduct any other duty deemed necessary by the Vice President.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  1. Must have High School Diploma or Equivalent. College Degree preferred.
  2. Must have 10 years minimum experience in sales within the earthmoving industry.
  3. Must have management experience.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
  6. Must be organized and a good planner.
  7. Ability to set and meet goals.
  8. Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  9. Caterpillar Dealer Management Experience preferred.
  10. PC skills required.
  11. Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License.
