Job description:
American Wholesale BookCompany (AWBC) is based in Florence, Alabama, and provides complete wholesaleand distribution services for Books-A-Million, 2nd & Charles stores,books-a-million.com and other retailers across the Southeast. Become part of thededicated team that gets product out to our stores and customers.
Reporting to the InboundManager, Yard Dog Driver is an important member of the Inbound team. Job dutiesinclude receiving and stocking inventory, and movement of trailers tofacilitate the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipmentor storage.
  • Receive and stock product using an RF scanner.
  • Moving trailers on and off dock doors using PIT equipment
  • Accurately identify the correct items from their correct location
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for following all safety rules, regulations and guidelines.
  • CDL license required for shuttling trailers to the offsite.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • PIT Certification/experience preferred, must be willing/able to obtain PIT Certification
  • Warehouse experience preferred.

Physical andEnvironmental Requirements
  • Continuously stand up to 4 hours
  • Walk between 4-6 miles a day. Walking short distances through the department/building
