Job description

POWER CROSS DIRECTOR OF DISCIPLESHIP.
Faith • Leadership • Athletics • Brotherhood.

Use Sports to Change Lives for Christ.

Are you a competitive, athletic-minded Christian leader who believes sports can be used as a powerful tool to reach the next generation for Jesus?
Do you thrive around teams, practices, competition, mentorship, and leadership development?
At Power Cross, we use athletics as the bridge to build relationships with young men and introduce them to the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every practice, workout, team meeting, meal, and conversation becomes an opportunity for discipleship and transformation.
We are looking for a servant leader who can connect with young men, lead with energy and authenticity, and help develop future Christian husbands, fathers, coaches, leaders, and difference-makers.
This is not a desk job.
This is frontline ministry through sports, relationships, mentorship, and discipleship.
Mission Statement:
Building up young men from generational poverty into spiritual leaders through Jesus with daily discipleship and athletics.

Through mentorship, athletics, accountability, Biblical teaching, and authentic relationships, Power Cross is committed to helping young men grow spiritually, emotionally, academically, and socially while preparing them to lead their homes, workplaces, churches, and communities.
Position: Director of Discipleship:
The Director of Discipleship will lead the spiritual culture of Power Cross by building strong relationships with participants, coaches, families, volunteers, and community partners while creating engaging Biblical teaching and discipleship opportunities across all athletic programs.
This role is ideal for someone who:
  • Loves athletics and team culture.
  • Has a heart for mentoring young men.
  • Can teach and communicate Biblical truth effectively.
  • Leads through humility, toughness, consistency, and relationships.
  • Wants to make an eternal impact through sports ministry.
  • Is a sacrificial leader willing to go the extra mile.

What Makes Power Cross Different?:
  • Athletics opens the door.
  • Relationships build trust.
  • Discipleship changes lives.
  • Jesus transforms futures.

We are raising up young men who:
  • Love Christ
  • Lead their homes
  • Serve their communities
  • Work hard
  • Stay disciplined
  • Become leaders instead of followers

Our mission is to help young men learn to LEAD their homes — not LEAVE their homes. We are in our 20th year of ministry and have greater plans for the future things to come.
Our Core Values:
  • Find the Father.
  • Maximize Effort & Expectations.
  • Nourish Mind, Body, & Soul.
  • Expose & Advance.
  • Reshape, Rebuild, & Redirect.
  • Relationship.

The Type of Leader We’re Looking For:
A Servant Leader Who:
  • Leads from the front.
  • Builds relationships naturally.
  • Connects with athletes and coaches.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Is dependable, disciplined, and energetic.
  • Loves teaching and mentoring.
  • Can motivate and challenge young men.
  • Is comfortable in gyms, practices, games, schools, churches, and community settings.
  • Lives out their faith authentically.
Someone With:
  • Strong Christian faith and Biblical knowledge.
  • Athletic background, coaching, or sports ministry experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to disciple students one-on-one and in groups.
  • Organizational and team-building ability.
  • Passion for evangelism and Kingdom impact.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead Discipleship Through Athletics:
  • Create and lead Bible studies for participants, coaches, and staff.
  • Develop discipleship lessons coaches can use during practices and team meetings.
  • Lead daily discipleship moments with athletic teams.
  • Serve as a sideline chaplain during games and events.
  • Build meaningful mentoring relationships with young men.
Build Leaders:
  • Help develop young men into spiritual leaders.
  • Encourage accountability, discipline, teamwork, and servant leadership.
  • Mentor athletes through life challenges, school, relationships, and faith.
  • Support alumni as they transition into college, careers, churches, and adulthood.
Strengthen the Ministry Culture:
  • Help create a Christ-centered culture throughout Power Cross.
  • Lead prayer initiatives and spiritual growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, prayer breakfasts, and outreach events.
  • Build strong partnerships with churches and faith-based organizations.
Invest in Relationships:
  • Connect with participants and families consistently.
  • Encourage coaches, volunteers, and staff spiritually.
  • Help build a strong brotherhood culture rooted in Christ.

Ministry Environment:
This role includes:
  • Coaches discipleship.
  • Team discipleship.
  • Community outreach.
  • Bible studies.
  • Mentorship.
  • Camps and events.
  • Sideline character development.
  • High-energy environments.
  • Real-life ministry moments.
You will have opportunities to impact young men during some of the most important and influential years of their lives.
Compensation Package:
Total Compensation Includes:
  • Starting Salary: $55,000.
  • Power Cross vehicle usage.

  • Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays vary based on practices, games, events, and ministry opportunities.

Flexibility is important due to athletics and ministry programming.
Biblical Foundation.
Romans 12:6–8.
“If your gift is to lead, do it diligently… if it is to encourage, give encouragement.”
We believe ministry happens in locker rooms, car rides, practices, weight rooms, team meals, and everyday conversations.
At Power Cross, sports are not the mission — they are the vehicle God uses to reach hearts.
Join the Mission:
If you are passionate about athletics, discipleship, mentorship, and building young men into strong Christian leaders, we would love to hear from you.
Come help us use sports to change lives and build the Kingdom of God.
