Job description

Not every Azure security role actually involves building secure cloud environments from the ground up. This one does.
A compliance-driven organization operating within GCC High and Azure Government environments is looking for a Senior Azure Security Engineer who understands that “secure by design” only matters if you can automate, enforce, and scale it. The work centers around architecting hardened Azure infrastructure through code, implementing policy-as-code frameworks, and navigating the realities of CMMC and FedRAMP requirements without turning engineering into paperwork theater.
You’ll own meaningful technical decisions across Azure security, governance, automation, and compliance while partnering with senior infrastructure and security leadership in a highly visible environment. If you’ve taken a GCC High environment from whiteboard to production and know the difference between compliance claims and operational security, this role will feel familiar—in the best way.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience delivering at least one complete GCC High or Azure Government implementation from design through production deployment
  • Strong expertise with Azure security tooling including Defender, SIEM integrations, Azure Policy, and PowerShell-driven infrastructure automation
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud environments aligned to CMMC, FedRAMP, or comparable federal compliance frameworks

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience implementing policy-as-code and reusable governance controls using Terraform and/or Bicep
  • Background supporting CMMC C3PAO assessments or FedRAMP authorization efforts
  • Experience securing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), SharePoint, and enterprise collaboration environments within regulated ecosystems

Daily Responsibilities

  • Hands-On Engineering: 75%
  • Team Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work: 25%

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis now and in the future.
Accommodation will be provided in all parts of the hiring process as required under Motion Recruitment’s Employment Accommodation policy. Applicants need to make their needs known in advance.
