Position Title: High School English Teacher (Grades 9, 10 & AP English 12)
Location: North Hollywood, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $45,000–$55,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)


Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and skilled High School English Teacher to join our faculty. This position includes teaching two 9th grade English classes, one 10th grade English class, and AP English Literature and Composition class. The ideal candidate is dedicated to fostering critical thinking, strong writing skills, and a deep appreciation for literature while maintaining high academic standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach two mixed 9th grade English classes, one regular 10th grade English class, and one AP English 12 class.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that support diverse learners.
  • Prepare AP English students for success on the AP examination through rigorous instruction and targeted skill development.
  • Assess student progress through essays, projects, exams, and presentations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and instructional best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators regarding academic progress and expectations.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience teaching high school English required.
  • AP English teaching experience preferred.
