Job Description

We are seeking a Hospitalist – Inpatient Physician to join our inpatient care team at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital. This full-time role is ideal for a compassionate and skilled physician with at least two years of hospitalist experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care for hospitalized patients.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions in the inpatient setting, managing an average daily census of 15 patients, overseeing the swing bed program, caring for ICU and swing bed patients, coordinating care transitions, and supporting safe, patient-centered outcomes throughout the hospital stay.

Patient Care & Treatment
  • Provide inpatient medical care for hospitalized patients
  • Conduct patient consultations, exams, and evaluations
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Manage ICU patients and perform procedures in the critical care setting as needed
  • Respond to codes when needed
  • Provide occasional consult support for CRNA care, as needed
  • Cover the hospital’s swing bed population
  • Develop and communicate treatment plans
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals on inpatient care and discharge planning
  • Maintain EMR records
  • Order and interpret diagnostics
  • Maintain an average daily census of 15 patients with a focus on quality outcomes

Collaborative Teamwork
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, nursing staff, specialists, and care teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative environment

Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Active California medical license or ability to obtain
  • Board certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of hospitalist experience required
  • Experience managing inpatient and ICU patients
  • Ability to perform procedures in the critical care setting as needed
  • Excellent bedside manner
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered inpatient care
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
