1st shift (United States of America)Please review the following job description:We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to support the deployment, operationalization, and continuous improvement of Cloud Security tooling across our multi-cloud enterprise environment. This position will also be responsible for Cloud native AWS tooling and automating solutions leveraging GitLab deployments, including AWS Guard Duty, Defender for Cloud, Security Hub, AWS Inspector, etc. via Terraform. Familiar with AI capabilities leveraging Amazon Bedrock and Azure Foundry.
This position is onsite, office-centric (5 days a week), based in a Truist core location:
North Carolina: Charlotte/Raleigh
Georgia: Atlanta
Virginia: Richmond

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implements cybersecurity solutions that protect critical assets within the job area, contributing to design and configuration decisions while following established strategies, patterns, and guidance.

  • Performs threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing tasks for assigned platforms and services, using defined methods to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

  • Integrates and configures information security technologies in test and production environments, applying and adjusting approved configuration patterns, automation, and handoff steps for assigned systems.

  • Investigates security issues escalated within the team for the services in scope, performing root-cause analysis and implementing practical fixes that prevent recurrence.

  • Reviews relevant security threats, tools, and design options for assigned work, and provides input that supports technical plans and priorities for the job area.

  • Collaborates with product and engineering teammates to apply security guidelines, secure by design practices, and governance controls in day-to-day development and delivery activities.

  • Implements and updates security baselines, guardrails, and control configurations for systems and applications within the area of responsibility, helping maintain regulatory and policy compliance.

  • Executes incident response and basic forensic activities for assigned services, following established playbooks, using approved tooling, and suggesting targeted improvements based on hands on experience.

  • Shares knowledge and best practices with technical teammates, offering informal guidance and support during code reviews, design discussions, and pairing sessions.

  • Plans and manages own work to meet defined objectives and milestones, seeking feedback, pursuing self-development, and adjusting approaches to improve quality and effectiveness over time.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.

  • Proficiency in implementing and managing information security technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Security experience

  • Experience securing AWS/Azure/GCP

  • Deep expertise in Wiz platform

  • Strong experience with CSPM, CWPP, CI/CD security

  • Strong automation and scripting background

  • Experience in Global 100 or Fortune 50 environments

  • Wiz Architect/Practitioner certifications

  • AWS/Azure/GCP security certifications

  • Banking or financial services experience.

  • Other security certifications (e.g. CCNA Security, GSEC, GCED, GPPA, etc.)

  • Other technical Certifications (e.g. CCNA, RHCE, MCSE, etc.)

  • Certification in Information Security Management (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)), or related security certification(s)

The annual base salary for this position is $80,000-$110,000. Additional incentive pay is available for this position.
