Job description

Position Summary

The Customer Experience team is looking for a candidate to fill the role of a Technical Support Representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering premier service and support to our customers. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing timely, accurate, and professional assistance to ensure a positive customer experience.

Hiring Range: 80,000 - 90,000

Responsibilities

Specializing in technical support, you will be providing customer support in one or more of the following disciplines: 

  • Industrial & Mobile Hydraulics

  • Truck Hydraulics

  • Pneumatics

  • Fluid Connector Products

  • Hydraulic/Pneumatic Cylinders

  • Provide technical support to customers; assist with product applications and selection, including competitive part number cross-referencing, and preparing build conversions
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries via phone, email, and CRM, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assist customers with product applications and selection, including competitive part number cross-referencing
  • Load new product part numbers and product shop orders (conversions) into Parker's operating system
  • Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with source divisions
  • Identify tactical lean opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department
  • Understand and support the Parker WIN Strategy

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Applied Technology or Engineering required 

  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience with applied technical product support 

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing support team related to Hydraulic products 
  • Fluid Power Certificate considered an asset

Skills:

  • Technical experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and fluid connector products

  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications

  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

  • Experience working with a CRM platform (Sales Force) 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external contacts

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, take ownership, problem-solve, and be proactive in a team environment

  • Ability to adapt to change and act as a change agent

  • Superior follow-up and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
