Assignment Details
Pay: $27.00/hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Occasional Weekends)
1st Shift: 6:00 AM start, 8 to 10 hour days or until production ends
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM start, 8 to 10 hour days or until production ends
Assignment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Start: ASAP
Pre Employment Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Client Interview Required
Responsibilities
- Safely perform repairs and preventative maintenance on the production floor and throughout the facility
- Work efficiently with production staff to support daily production needs with urgency
- Troubleshoot and rebuild food packaging machinery, motors, and similar equipment
- Work safely with basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and thermal systems
- Report deficiencies to a supervisor in a timely manner
- Help minimize production downtime and identify solutions to reduce delays
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures correctly
- Account for tools, utensils, and other potentially dangerous equipment distributed daily
- Attend documented training on company procedures
- Keep the maintenance shop and all work areas clean and organized
- Follow all HACCP, SSOP, SOP, and GMP policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
Work Environment and Dress Code
- Dress Code:
- Composite toe or steel toe safety boots required
- Waterproof and slip resistant footwear required
- Electrical Hazard Safety shoes required
Requirements:
- Previous maintenance experience and training in the food processing industry
- Food manufacturing background required
- Meat processing background preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and walk or stand for long periods
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong math aptitude, assertiveness, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand, read, speak, and write English at a 12th grade level to read machine manuals, schematics, wiring charts, motor repair instructions, MSDS, and related materials
- Ability to work for extended periods in cold, warm, or wet and damp environments
