JOB TITLE: Senior Electrical Assembling Technician DEPARTMENT: JAE Houston, LLC

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

SUPERVISES: None

POSITION TYPE: Non-exempt


GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:


*** THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION COVERING A MEDICAL LEAVE ***

The Senior Electrical Assembling Technician will inspect and repair work for JAE’s and/or 3rd party’s directional module package and/or similar products for the oil & gas industries for the Houston Repair Center (JAE Houston, LLC).


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  1. Visual Inspection of units returned for repair against NCR
  2. The repair work will consist of:
  3. Removing RTV adhesives without extra damage of chassis, wire harness, components, and other parts
  4. Removing the damaged parts and replacing them with new parts in correct position and proper alignment
  5. Soldering with HMP and PB86 solder
  6. Inspection of work performed as part of own repair and of other technicians
  7. Placing adhesive or RTV on the repair units
  8. Data entry of defect information, repair work
  9. Visual outgoing inspection of repaired units
  10. Training of new repair technicians


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / PERCENT


General Electrical Repair Work / 65

Data entry of defect information, repair work / 10

Visual Inspection of units (receiving and final inspection) / 10

Other Administrative Duties (includes training others) / 15


CORE COMPETENCIES:


  1. General computer skills for data entry using Microsoft applications
  2. Soldering experience: Skillful high temperature soldering experience in electrical assembly, wire stripping, tinning with HMP and PB86 fluxed wire solder.
  3. Problem-solving abilities: Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  4. Attention to detail: Ability to perform precise work and maintain high standards of quality in repair tasks.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (Prior IPC certification preferred)


Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience for HMP and or PB86 soldering, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.


Skills: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.


BUSINESS TRAVEL:

This position requires no traveling.


PHYSICAL DEMAND:

This position requires lifting up to 20 pounds frequently.
