Mechanical Engineer - Temporary
  • Location: Jefferson Hills, PA (Onsite - South of Pittsburgh, PA)
  • Employment Type: Temporary (Up to 12-month assignment)
  • Division: Process Equipment Division
  • Reports To: Mechanical Engineering Supervisor
The Mechanical Engineer is an entry-level, temporary engineering role responsible for the modification of designs and detailing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery used in vacuum systems. This position applies fundamental mechanical engineering principles to support the design and development of products such as vacuum chambers, sub-assemblies, and integrated systems.
The Mechanical Engineer works under the direction of an experienced Engineer or Supervisor and may be involved in fabrication, operation, and application of mechanical products in a manufacturing environment. Some creativity and independent problem-solving are expected.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and detail mechanical components used in company product lines while following established engineering procedures
  • Modify existing designs and create detailed drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Work within defined project budgets and timelines
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in the corporate ERP system
  • Interface with Sales and Product Management to understand project and customer requirements
  • Collaborate with the internal machine shop to support cost-effective manufacturing solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong 3D CAD experience
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Solid Edge or other mid-range 3D modeling software
