Purpose:

As part of the Quality team, the Senior Manager Temperature Control & Transportation will find opportunities to continuously improve quality, cost and time factors consistent with the Deliver business objectives. This role will be the central point of contact for quality assurance processes, procedures, audits and activities as it relates to Transportation and Temperature control globally. The Senior Manager works to develop work processes and solutions that integrate compliant product and customer delivery requirements into the distribution operation for DePuy Synthes products.

Oversee the implementation of projects utilizing project management tools to drive continuous improvement and cost savings programs/strategies to meet business requirements, when connected to Temperature Control activities, including but not limited to qualification of temperature control solutions such as active and passive containers, thermal blankets, temperature monitoring devices.

Act as the subject matter expert for the collection, analysis and reporting of temperature data used to make science-based decisions, advising the corresponding business units on whether temperature protection is needed during transport of temperature sensitive products.

Provide leadership to assigned team members ensuring timelines and compliance goals are met as it relates to the activities owned by the Temperature Control Support Center.

Manages ongoing benchmarking of Temperature Control Industry for key continuous improvement processes, savings realization and customer satisfaction.

Monitor the market and partner with external suppliers to evaluate, qualify and deploy new temperature control and monitoring technologies, aligned with stakeholders and local regulation requirements.

Provide required assurance activities to qualify new suppliers of temperature control solutions and involve internal SMEs supporting supplier qualification as appropriate.

The position will collaborate with all supply chain/business unit partners to standardize temperature control processes.

The Sr. Manager must possess high-level multi-tasking and organizational skills and be able to troubleshoot most temperature control and transportation issues globally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Direct, control and facilitate the Global Temperature & Transportation Control Support Center (TCSC) objectives and plans to meet the tactical/strategic goals of the organization

  • Serve as the Engineering expert for Global Temperature Control and ensure all activities and projects are aligned to TCSC goals and adhere to good engineering practices.

  • Maintains liaison with individuals and global units within or outside his/her organization, with responsibility for acting independently on technical or business matters pertaining to his/her field.

  • Develop policies and procedures pertaining to activities directed and participate in the formulation of compliant policies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a BA/BS in Engineering or related field is required. MA/MS/MBA is preferred.

  • A minimum of 8 years of related work experience

  • Knowledge of temperature-controlled transportation, distribution and storage

  • Knowledge of cGMPs, international, federal, and local regulations for manufacturing, storage, transportation and distribution of medical devices

  • Takes ownership for and/or support talent acquisition, performance and development of self and others

  • Maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance and accountability

  • Demonstrate a global mindset

  • Serves as subject matter expert within functional area

  • This position may require up to a 10% of domestic and/or international travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$122,000.00 - $212,750.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
