Dispensing Optician (Licensed/Certified) - Temporary / Contract

Location: Multiple Locations Nationwide

Estimated Pay Range:  $22.00 - $32.00 per hour  (based on experience, certification and location)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are actively seeking experienced Dispensing Opticians for temporary and contract assignments at retail optical locations, private eyecare practices, and optical centres across the country. Whether you are looking for flexible temp work between permanent roles, prefer the variety of working in different optical settings, or want to earn great hourly pay on your own schedule, we want to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Interpret and fill eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists
  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their prescription, lifestyle, and budget
  • Take accurate facial measurements (PD, seg height, OC, fitting height) for lens fabrication
  • Fit, adjust, and repair eyeglasses to ensure proper comfort and alignment
  • Educate patients on lens options including progressive, photochromic, AR coatings, and blue light filtering
  • Process orders through optical lab systems and manage patient records
  • Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a professional retail environment

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • ABO Certification required; NCLE certification a plus
  • State licensure where applicable - we support both licensed and non-licensed states
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a retail optical, private practice, or clinical optical setting
  • Familiarity with current frame lines, lens technology, and optical lab processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping patients see their best
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced retail environments
