Job description

Role: Senior Data Processor
Location: Elkridge, MD (on-site)
Hours: Full time Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week 8:00am - 5:00pm
Type of Hire: Temp to hire
Pay: $24-$26/hour
Benefits: Health insurance (60 days), vision & dental insurance (day 1)
Travel: 0–5%
Role Summary
This position is a fully on-site frontline role responsible for supporting the day-to-day back-office evidence processing, correspondence, and administrative functions for a county traffic enforcement program. Working directly in the County’s office environment alongside other team members and client stakeholders, this role helps ensure that evidence packages, court materials, correspondence, and motor vehicle-related tasks are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with program requirements.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing repetitive, process-driven work involving legal documents, evidence materials, and confidential information. The Specialist will partner closely with the Howard County Correspondence & Evidence Team Lead and provide critical support to maintain quality, compliance, and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Evidence Package Processing
  • Prepare and process evidence packages in accordance with County and Client procedures
  • Support evidence package creation and submission into the appropriate queues and systems
  • Prepare court evidence packets and administrative court packages for review and use by law enforcement and court stakeholders
  • Assemble and maintain digital court evidence package files for individual citations
  • Organize, label, and maintain docket files and digital folders to support accurate recordkeeping and retrieval
Correspondence & Printing Support
  • Create and process outgoing correspondence, including citations, late notices, summons letters, and failure to appear letters
  • Ensure correspondence is complete, accurate, and routed for required client review and approval before mailing
  • Perform internal printing tasks related to correspondence and evidence packages in compliance with contractual requirements
  • Maintain document quality and formatting standards across all printed and mailed materials
MVA Flagging & Administrative Support
  • Support motor vehicle administration flag additions and removals in accordance with established procedures and timelines
  • Perform assigned flagging and removal tasks as scheduled to meet County expectations and operational needs
  • Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and audit trails related to MVA activity
  • Escalate discrepancies, errors, or unusual cases to the Team Lead promptly

Quality, Compliance & Record Accuracy
  • Follow Maryland state law, Howard County ordinances, and Client program procedures related to automated enforcement and traffic safety
  • Handle confidential information, legal documents, and evidence materials with discretion and care
  • Review work for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards before final submission
  • Identify errors or process issues and communicate them to the Team Lead in a timely manner
  • Support updated documentation and standard operating procedures as workflows evolve

Team & Client Support
  • Work closely with the Team Lead and other on-site staff to maintain daily workflow coverage and service levels
  • Communicate professionally with internal partners and client stakeholders when needed
  • Support cross-training and provide backup coverage for core operational tasks
  • Always represent Client professionally in the client environment

Qualifications Required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a high-volume administrative, legal support, correspondence, records management, or back-office processing role
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive, document-heavy work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Comfortable handling confidential information and sensitive documents
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Comfortable navigating web-based systems, databases, and shared digital files
  • Ability to work fully on-site in Howard County, Maryland, Monday–Friday
  • Ability to pass a background check and fingerprinting as required by Howard County and Client

Preferred
  • Experience working in a public-sector or client-operated office environment
  • Experience supporting evidence preparation, correspondence workflows, or document quality review
