Job description

Job Type: Contract (6+ Months)

Job Description:

  • Visit houses that need repairs
  • Check what's broken or unsafe
  • Decide if the home qualifies for rehab help
  • Understand building codes and safety rules
  • Write repair plans and cost estimates
  • Hire/manage contractors
  • Inspect contractor work to ensure it's done correctly
  • Make sure workers are paid properly under federal labor laws (Davis-Bacon Act)
  • May inspect roofs, plumbing, electrical wiring, heating/cooling systems, structural damage
  • Explain housing assistance programs to residents
  • Help people apply for rehab loans/grants
  • Check if homeowners qualify financially
  • Set up loan payment plans or liens
  • Prepare legal paperwork and reports
  • Coordinate with banks, title companies, and city departments
  • Maintain records for federal compliance (HUD rules)
  • Help clients refinance or adjust payments if needed
  • Explain housing assistance programs to residents
  • Help people apply for rehab loans/grants
