American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a float pool position requiring 2+ years of nursing experience, including psychiatric experience, and a compact or Maryland RN license.
Details- Float pool position covering 19 inpatient behavioral health units, including child, adolescent, and adult populations
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- Locked inpatient psychiatric unit setting
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Must float within scope to any unit or age population as scheduling requires
- Uses Sunrise (Allscripts) EMR
- Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) required in-hand at time of consideration; temporary licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, including 6 months to 1 year in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting
- BLS certification required
- Strong clinical judgement, assessment, delegation, and leadership skills required
- Sunrise EMR experience preferred
- Charge RN experience preferred
- Must pass drug screen on first attempt; medical marijuana cards not accepted
- May be required to work as charge RN during shifts, without additional charge pay
- Fingerprinting must be completed in Maryland via Livescan prior to start, with receipt required for clearance
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- One pre-approved RTO request allowed
- Local candidates accepted
- Former permanent employees must wait one full year before applying for a travel position
- Candidates who apply for a permanent position at the facility must wait one year before applying as a traveler
