Job description


Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. Compliance to SOP's, GMPs, Housekeeping, Safety, and all other FE policies. Performs daily basic tube inspections labeling of product as needed document, perform lockout tag out procedures when and if needed. Maintains various logs such as (VIR, cooling tube inspection, cut to cool manual log). Serves as tube operator performing standard cooling operations to ensure loads get cooled per food safety specifications. Perform all documentation required for function being performed. May use a variety of support documents or equipment to assist with the assignments such as hand held readers, vehicle mounting units (VMU), voice notification devices (VOCollect), paper documents, etc. to receive and process assignments. Applying various labels as needed. When needed perform temperature checks of incoming raw material. Operate site cooling tube(s) within processing expectations of product being cooled. Coordinates loads of product that must be cooled based on harvest time to ensure proper FIFO and processing/timing expectations are met within cut to cool specifications. Executes routine cooling tube operation as needed based on flow of raw product into the site. Operate twelve pallet and regular forklift's as needed per production needs. Responsible for tracking product movement and cooling through use of the company's corporate computer system. As needed, use of twelve pallet or regular forklift for receiving raw product in the plant and supplying the processing lines with product. Staging, loading, unloading, and distributing of product from site receipt through cooling and transfer into warehouse. Product is delivered to site directly from harvest or from suppliers and may require cooling or may be pre-cooled. Stores various materials in the warehouse, salad, fruit and yard (i.e. pallets, bins, totes, cardboard, chemicals and parts. Loads empty containers, pallets, recycle material to be sent out and completes necessary paperwork or electronic documentation. Assist in disposing any garbage into garbage dumpsters. Assist in putting product waste (cull) into cull trailers in both Salad /Fruit. Assists the GL Combos by staging empty fiber bins and the removal of completed fiber stacks. Communicates and reports to Manager or Supervisor on equipment problems and or other issues pertaining to work place. Maintains good house cleaning in assigned yard area cleared and free of hazards to both equipment and staff. Employees may be assigned to perform other tasks on a temporary basis. Responsible for actively supporting the other members of the employee's work team including assisting with cross-training, new-hire/buddy assignments, and process support during breaks, meal periods, and other staff coverage as needed. Must be able to assist in unloading any material based on operational needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to coordinate and prioritize multiple duties during the shift. Must have certification or prior experience driving a ten/twelve pallet and forklift. Must possess basic computer skills. Must possess some mechanical problem solving aptitude and skills. Must be able to coordinate and prioritize multiple duties during the shift.
Must be able to work 6 or more consecutive days including overtime, any shift, including late nights, weekends, and holidays. Must pass the Aptitude test. Must be able to work in a cold atmosphere (30-34 degrees), around wet surfaces and moderate to high noise levels. Must be able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis. Must be able to count and record data to confirm activities. Must be able to follow instruction whether oral or written.
