Job description

Job Title: Crane Operator

About us:

RUSH Marine, LLC., a division of RUSH Construction Inc. is a leading marine construction contractor specializing in building, repairing, and maintaining docks, seawalls, pilings, boat lifts, bulkheads, and other waterfront structures. We pride ourselves on quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.

We have expanded our work in Jacksonville and looking for an experiences Crane Operator. 


Position Summary:

As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes (e.g., mobile, tower, overhead, friction) to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment on construction sites or within industrial facilities. You must be able to interpret load charts, follow safety protocols, and work effectively with rigging crews and site supervisors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate crane equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer instructions and job site requirements
  • Inspect cranes daily to ensure safe working condition and report any issues or defects
  • Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the crane and all equipment
  • Calculate load capacities, weights, and boom angles using load charts
  • Communicate clearly with riggers, signalpersons, and supervisors to ensure safe lifting operations
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and company safety standards
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and operation logs
  • Assist with crane assembly/disassembly when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) certification or equivalent (required)
  • Minimum 3 years of crane operating experience
  • Familiarity with different types of cranes (e.g., crawler, tower, overhead, mobile)
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and site plans
  • Strong awareness of safety regulations and procedures
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License), (preferred)
  • Friction crane experience a plus
