Job description

Monday - Friday | 8am - 5pm | Temp to Hire $15-$17hr- Claremore, OK

The Ophthalmic Tech will provide direct patient care under the guidance of the Ophthalmologist, obtain prior authorizations for surgery, schedule cataract surgery procedures twice per week at the ambulatory surgery center, and more.

Qualifications:

· Work experience as an Ophthalmic Technician strongly preferred.

· Strong computer skills

EMR experience preferred

· Excellent communication skills & ability to multi-task

· Must be able to go to other office locations based on department needs.

· MUST have stable work history.

* Assist ophthalmologists by performing ophthalmic clinical functions. May administer eye exams, administer eye medications, and instruct the patient in care and use of corrective lenses.
* Take and document patients' medical histories.
* Conduct tonometry or tonography tests to measure intraocular pressure.
* Operate ophthalmic equipment, such as autorefractors, phoropters, tomographs, or retinoscopes.
* Take anatomical or functional ocular measurements of the eye or surrounding tissue, such as axial length measurements.
* Measure visual acuity, including near, distance, pinhole, or dynamic visual acuity, using appropriate tests.
* Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
* Measure and record lens power, using lensometers.
* Conduct visual field tests to measure field of vision.
* Assist physicians in performing ophthalmic procedures, including surgery.
