Position Description
Title: Restoration Technician
Function: Construction
Supervisor: Director of Construction
About Us:
Ecotone works with nature and people to restore ecological integrity through full-delivery ecological restoration, from design and permitting through construction and long-term stewardship.
Your Mission:
The main function of the restoration technician position is to support the construction or planting staff. The majority of the work takes place outside in tight quarters, slippery conditions, and amid a multitude of environmental barriers. It is integral that any potential restoration technician would be extremely confident, remain positive in frustrating situations, and continually be able to perform quality work. Starting pay will depend on your skills and abilities.
Outcomes You Will Deliver:
  • Lifting and setting up pumps with all associated hose assemblies. This includes ensuring pumps are fueled and routinely maintained on site (oil, air filter, pull cord, etc.).
  • Installation of permanent erosion and sediment controls, i.e. soil stabilization matting. This includes carrying rolls, laying the rolls out, cutting them to length, staking/stapling, and keying in, as well as permanent seeding and straw mulching.
  • Installing temporary erosion and sediment control measures, including temporary seeding and straw mulch.
  • Provide daily support to heavy equipment operators which may include daily preventative maintenance, regular service, and planning of site-specific tasks.
  • General site upkeep, including trash pickup and removal from the site and work area on a daily basis.
  • Installation and maintenance of sediment control devices, perimeter diversion, and safety controls.
Who You Are:
  • Must be positive, flexible, and customer-service oriented
  • Stream restoration, storm water experience is a plus
  • Reliable source of transportation to various job sites
  • Be able to move and lift 50 to 70 pounds on a frequent basis with an occasional need to lift over 70 pounds
  • Drug test required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be at least 18 years old
