Job description

Senior Engineers, Software located in Atlanta, GA will Design and develop internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems, as required to deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Own the technical vision and development of a sub domain or capability.
  • Utilize development skills to build software and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include builds and releases and ensure continuous integration and build is in place.
  • Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing education and training as well as translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications or user stories.
  • Communicate design, requirements, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications.
  • Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results.
  • Oversee, build, and unit test production deployment packages.
  • Facilitate/lead reviews (walkthroughs) or grooming sessions and demos of technical specifications and program code with other members of the technical team, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality, and limitations of systems/applications to team and development lead.
  • Utilize product lifecycle methodology as a guide for development activities.
  • Provide on-call and after hours support as required for production releases and respond and provide active resolution support on production outages.
  • Collaborate with architects and other software engineers on design, with other business and IT partner teams on successful delivery of product enhancements and support.
  • Telecommuting is permitted, but applicant must work from the worksite location at least 3-4 days per week. No additional national or international travel is anticipated.

Skill requirements:
  • (1) Utilizing Web, SOAP, REST, and XML services to conduct Enterprise integration;
  • (2) Developing containerized apps using Cloud technology including Cloud Foundry, Spring Boot, API Developer portal, webservice frameworks and test with SOAPUI;
  • (3) Designing and implementing non-relational database objects using MongoDB;
  • (4) Designing and building Restful APIs, API Apigee gateway, and creating service contracts with building swagger and WSDL following standard specifications;
  • (5) Utilizing DevOps, Agile, Jenkins, and continuous integration practices and platforms to implement, maintain, and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery processes; and
  • (6) Designing complex multi-tiered applications with scalable web technologies including REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML.

Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 3 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, or related, or its foreign equivalent, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
