Job Title: Classified Substitute (Support Staff)
Reports To: Department Supervisor and/or Site Administrator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Type: Part-Time / On-Call
Job Summary:
Classified Substitutes provide temporary support in a variety of non-instructional roles such as food service, maintenance, custodial services, and transportation. These individuals play a vital role in the smooth and safe operation of the school district and are called upon to fill in when regular staff are absent. Assignments and responsibilities may vary based on the department's needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:







  • Perform tasks associated with the assigned department, which may include:
    • Assisting in the preparation and service of meals (Food Service)
    • Cleaning and maintaining school buildings and grounds (Custodial/Maintenance)
    • Performing general repairs and upkeep of facilities (Maintenance)
    • Safely transporting students to and from school or events (Transportation/Bus Drivers)
  • Follow all district safety procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, students, and supervisors.
  • Complete tasks as directed by the site administrator or department supervisor.
  • Report any incidents, safety concerns, or maintenance needs promptly.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in the related field (food service, custodial, maintenance, or transportation) preferred.
  • Must pass a background check and any department-specific screenings.
  • For bus drivers: Must hold a valid CDL with required endorsements and meet all applicable driving and safety requirements.
