Job description

Process Technician

Responsibilities

  • At least 2 years of plastics injection molding technician experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotics systems, including Epsin, Yushin, and Yaskawa/Motoman.
  • Set up injection molding machines according to production requirements, including installing and removing molds and performing accurate job changeovers.
  • Ensure new jobs start up correctly by verifying process parameters, material, color changes, and part quality before releasing to production.
  • Monitor the performance of injection molding machines and molds throughout the shift to maintain consistent quality and cycle times.
  • Troubleshoot molding issues such as flash, short shots, burn marks, dimensional problems, and other quality defects, adjusting processes as needed.
  • Start up and operate 3-axis and 6-axis robots, ensuring proper programming, part handling, and integration with molding machines.
  • Perform mold changes and color changes efficiently and safely, following established procedures and minimizing production interruptions.
  • Communicate promptly and clearly with maintenance and department leadership regarding machine breakdowns, repairs, and recurring issues.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities on molding machines, molds, and related equipment as directed.
  • Assist with mold tooling and basic tool repair tasks as needed to support continuous production.
  • Apply knowledge of pneumatics, mechanical systems, and injection molding equipment to identify root causes of equipment problems.
  • Document machine settings, changes, and issues as required to support consistent processes and effective troubleshooting.

Work Environment

  • This position is based in a manufacturing environment where you work directly with injection molding machines, molds, and robotic systems.
  • The facility is not temperature controlled, but it remains comfortable with overhead fans that help keep the area cool.
  • The primary schedule is a weekend shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., where you work 36 hours and receive pay for 40 hours. Initial training takes place on first shift in 8-hour blocks to ensure thorough onboarding and skills development.
  • You can expect a hands-on, production-focused setting that emphasizes safety, reliable equipment operation, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
