You apply your welding expertise, blueprint reading skills, and attention to detail to produce high-quality welded components and support overall fabrication operations. Candidates must be able to pass a horizontal MIG welding test and a written assessment; those who do not initially pass may start in a laborer capacity while developing the skills needed to meet welding standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on production components, including JLG baskets and A-frames, to meet established quality and safety standards.

  • Complete and pass a horizontal MIG welding test and written welding assessment as part of the qualification process.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring proper settings and safe operation.
  • Use grinding tools to clean, finish, and prepare welded parts as required for final assembly or further processing.
  • Accurately use tape measures and basic math skills to verify dimensions, align components, and confirm tolerances.
  • Support fabrication activities by fitting, positioning, and securing workpieces prior to welding.
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance to support production schedules and team workflow.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in a manufacturing environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment.

  • Experience using grinding tools for finishing and preparation of welded parts.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately and apply basic math to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance record in previous roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in fabrication work, including fitting and positioning components before welding.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production welding environment.
  • Willingness to start in a laborer role if welding test requirements are not initially met, with the goal of progressing to a welding position.
