Job description

Precision Assembler (1st shift)
- Location: Cookville, TN
- Work Schedule: Mon to Fri / 1st Shift: 7 am to 3:30 pm
- Pay rate: 17$ per hour
- Contract: W2 under staffing supplier; with a 6-month duration (possible extension)
JOB SUMARRY
The Precision Assembler prepares, builds, tests, and repairs high-quality equipment and tools using technical documentation and modern machinery. The role focuses on precision, continuous improvement, and ensuring on-time delivery for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly & Repair: Prepare, clean, assemble, disassemble, and test equipment according to blueprints and work orders.

  • Precision Inspection: Operate advanced measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, CMM) and hand tools (hydraulic wrenches, torches) to ensure parts meet specifications.

  • Troubleshooting & Math: Resolve assembly issues and perform basic mathematical conversions (rates, ratios, percentages).

  • Operations & Safety: Write routine reports, use basic computer systems (MS Office), follow safety rules, and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements & Preferred Skills
  • Experience: HS Diploma/GED and 0–2 years of experience; background as a mechanic for rotating/mechanical devices or workshop experience is preferred.

  • Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints/technical drawings; knowledge of automation controls and electrical components is a plus.

  • Physical & Schedule: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work overtime or weekends on short notice.
